Here is a historical look at the Healthy Workplaces project.  This page was archived but retained for informational purposes in June, 2020.

In Year 2 we continue to take the information gathered in the first year to the workers and agencies in the province through workshops, videos, and other media to disseminate the knowledge and to raise awareness of the issue.  The activities of this year will be promotional, and evaluative, to determine effectiveness of the information dissemination.

Our activities in Year 2 will expand and continue the two existing programs:  the Be a Wellness Leader program and the Research Partnership Program.

We will use the communication strategy framework developed by Barrett that includes the following elements:  communicator, purpose, messages, media/forum, audiences, timing, and feedback (Barrett, D. (2014). Leadership Communication, 4e.  New York: McGraw-Hill Education, pp.  34-36).  This framework ensures that we are considering the key aspects of the communication situation in delivering our message to the agencies in the province.

  • Maintain the project website created in year 1, focusing on psychosocial health and safety tools, resources and project information
  • Maintain our social media presence established in year 1
  • Support the development of workshops, tutorials, training modules, webinars and social media content
  • Deliver 1 : 1 tutorials, consultations, and conference presentations
  • Liaise with other projects/organizations working to evolve better practice within the sector
  • Develop the feedback loops to keep the membership organizations appraised of the progress and findings:
  • Newsletter (“Healthy Workplaces”) and bulletins focusing on psychosocial hazards will be forwarded to the membership of the provincial associations
  • Bi-annual presentations to the Partnership
  • Presentations to conferences (at least 3-4)
